SPF. Serums. Red Light Therapy. Gua Sha. Microdermabrasion. These are just a few buzzwords from the skincare world you may have heard from friends or your favorite beauty influencers. With the rise of informational-focused social media, skincare has become more and more a topic of conversation and education. Entering the conversation is HeyDay Skincare, an education-based facial experience aiming to provide its clients with the confidence to put their “best face forward.”
HeyDay Skincare has arrived in Alexandria to bring a personal skincare experience out of the spas and into our everyday routines. At the end of July, HeyDay opened its newest location here in Old Town. The location is nothing short of excellent, located at 815 King Street next to Bishop Boutique and the Patagonia store and across the street from Sephora. This is the second HeyDay shop that opened recently in the DMV. You can also find HeyDay at Bethesda Row, and soon more locations are opening in Washington, D.C.
If you are looking to experience your first facial, HeyDay is a great place to start. I had never booked a facial before, and honestly, I was nervous about letting someone so up close and personal with a literal magnifying glass on my pores and insecurities. But as soon as I met the HeyDay staff, I was delighted by their welcome and excitement in introducing me to their process and products. Skincare can be overwhelming, but the HeyDay experience started with a questionnaire to narrow down areas of focus to create a personalized appointment. Once complete, their “expert Skin Therapists” customize the appointment by determining what the skin needs during the 50-minute personalized treatment and what it needs moving forward, post-appointment.
Throughout the appointment, education was first. It was important to me to know the why behind each step and product used throughout the facial. Of course, because I can’t sit still without talking, I made sure to ask my expert to walk me through the products and benefits of each step. They also asked me questions about my skincare process (or lack thereof) to help build my home skincare routine. After the appointment, I was given a card with the names of each product used and recommendations for skin products to continue using. They also showed me a few products they carry in stores that would work with my skin type.
HeyDay’s mission is to give its clients the confidence to put their “best face forward” and create a routine for healthy skin. HeyDay aims to create a one-stop shop for all skin needs, and the shop encourages conversation with its experts for a positive and educational experience. Now is the perfect time to try out HeyDay because they are offering an opening special! The Alexandria location is offering your first facial at $65 (a $140 value) for a limited time. Book your first-time facial here. Welcome to the neighborhood, HeyDay!
